NEW YORK NIBBLES AND NOSHES

The true path to discovering NY's historical ethnic enclaves is through its kitchens. Experience the diversity of NYC and fill your stomach while at it! First stop is at Kossar's Bialys in the Lower East Side for a bialy (a bagel without the hole) with a schmear (cream cheese spread). Then across the street to the Pickle Guys to sample some of their wild varieties of pickled products: sweet peppers, whole garlic cloves, and a half dozen different types of pickles. Next, a slice of authentic NY pizza while talking about how this favorite dish was introduced to America in downtown Manhattan, circa 1905.

After the LES we'll make our way to Chinatown for fried dumplings, sriracha (hot pepper sauce) and vinegar-soy sauce optional but recommended! Save room for dessert in Little Italy - Ferrara's has amazing ricotta cannolis and cool gelato.
